Useful Resources

Pomona's Career Development Office

The CDO is a wonderful resource for prospective graduate students if it is used properly. Refer to the CDO from time to time when you need help with your resume, want a second opinion on your personal statement, or need to check out GRE study books.

What the CDO can do for you:

    • Help you create a science resume or CV.

    • Give you feedback on your personal statement (however having a professor read your essay is also a good option as they are very familiar with the field you are going into and the graduate application process).

    • Connect you with Pomona science alumni in academia or industry.

Some useful resources provided by the CDO:

    • Resource guides on interviewing and determining whether you should go to graduate school after college.

    • GRE general and subject test study guides.

    • Old and practice GRE tests.

    • Literature on how to write a personal statement, how to get into graduate school, and how to interview well.

    • Graduate program guides listing schools and programs in the US.
